We hosted BeeBridge staff training in Mersin
Hosted by NATURELDER on 15–17 September 2026, the training brought together 11 partner representatives from six countries. The programme focused on audiovisual content for beekeeping education and included visits to Adana TAYEM and Eğriçayır.

As the Mediterranean Natural Life Association (NATURELDER), we hosted BeeBridge’s international staff training on 15–17 September 2026 under the Erasmus+ KA220-VET programme. Based in Mersin, the three-day programme brought together 11 representatives of six partner organisations from Poland, Spain, Czechia, Lithuania, Estonia and Türkiye. It also included visits to the technical training environment at Adana TAYEM and the Eğriçayır production facility.
Held under WP2 — Audiovisual Training Content, the training focused on preparing partners to turn beekeeping knowledge into clear learning materials for use across countries. The programme connected learning outcomes, scripts and filming plans with image and sound recording, review and quality assurance.
From beekeeping knowledge to educational video
Producing learning materials involves both knowing a beekeeping practice and planning how to explain its steps to a viewer. The first day’s programme explored this relationship through learning outcomes, scripts, storyboards and scene plans. Deciding which details to show and how the explanation should unfold formed the basis of preparation before filming.
Our Spanish partner, Growth Coop S.Coop.And (GrowthCoop), led most of the technical and methodological sessions. The programme covered framing, sound, lighting, backgrounds and presenter preparation, alongside short videos, practical demonstrations, subtitles and different language versions. NATURELDER and our Polish partner ARID jointly contributed to the session introducing the WP2 context and the aims of the training.
Exploring the recording environment at Adana TAYEM
On 16 September, we visited the Adana Agricultural Production Enterprise, Agricultural Extension and In-Service Training Centre Directorate (Adana TAYEM). This part of the programme connected content planning with the practical conditions of filming through the centre’s training facilities and recording environment.
The second day’s programme included a technical demonstration of camera positioning, microphone use, lighting and recording arrangements. Small-group practice in filming a short training segment and a review of recorded examples were also on the agenda, bringing preparation, recording and review into the same learning process.

Quality assurance and the next production steps
The Mersin programme on 17 September continued with a review of the first two days and outstanding technical questions. GrowthCoop and our Czech partner, the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU), jointly contributed to the session on a quality checklist, review procedures and minimum standards. Partners’ next steps for producing videos in their own countries, the production schedule, responsibilities and communication arrangements were also on the agenda.
Participant evaluation, with contributions from NATURELDER and CZU, and the closing session completed the three days of work. The training focused on preparation for partners’ subsequent content production and on working towards a shared approach to reviewing materials.
Connecting with local production at Eğriçayır
On the final day, after the closing session, we visited the Eğriçayır production facility. The visit brought our international partners into contact with the bee-products production environment in Mersin, providing a connection to the local sector. It complemented the educational and technical recording focus of the TAYEM visit with a perspective from beekeeping’s production environment.
Preparing to share knowledge between generations
BeeBridge aims to connect experienced beekeepers’ knowledge with younger people and those entering beekeeping. Building on BeeGen, the project brings together updated training content, audiovisual materials, the sharing of expert experience and practical learning.
Coordinated by Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences (WUELS), the project runs from 1 December 2025 to 30 November 2028, with seven organisations from six countries. The Mersin staff training was one stage in preparing this partnership to produce learning content. Alongside hosting the training and providing local coordination, NATURELDER contributes to developing the beginner-level “Apiary Establishment and Hive Systems” module and the professional-level “Professional Apiary Management and Marketing” module.
