# Unused land in Erdemli returns to production with carob

NATURELDER is a local partner in an initiative supporting carob cultivation on unused farmland, with women producers among those eligible for grant support.

The Mediterranean Natural Life Association (NATURELDER) joined as a local partner in **“Idle Agricultural Lands Become a Source of Healing with Carob”**, a project aiming to bring unused farmland in Erdemli back into production.

Led by the **Erdemli District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry**, the initiative is financed by the **General Directorate of Plant Production of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry**. It aims to develop carob cultivation on unused land and support rural producers.

**Women producers are among those eligible for grant support under the project.** On the occasion of International Women's Day on 8 March, we celebrate the women who work the land and wish them success in their farming endeavours. We thank the project team at the Erdemli District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry for making this local cooperation possible.
