We attended the civic engagement workshop in Mersin
We joined the Mersin workshop for a strategy and action plan to strengthen cooperation between local government and civil society.
NATURELDER attended the Civic Engagement Strategy and Action Plan Development Workshop in Mersin on 28 February 2024.
As one of the Civic Engagement Project’s seven pilot provinces, Mersin brought together representatives of local government, public institutions, civil society and universities. Discussions explored steps to increase civic engagement and cooperation between institutions in response to local needs.
Group activities helped shape the draft framework for a local strategy and a two-year action plan. The preparations focused on involving different sections of society more actively in local decision-making and improving communication between public institutions and civil society.
