We joined the Mersin workshop for a strategy and action plan to strengthen cooperation between local government and civil society.

**NATURELDER attended the Civic Engagement Strategy and Action Plan Development Workshop in Mersin on 28 February 2024.**

As one of the Civic Engagement Project’s seven pilot provinces, Mersin brought together representatives of local government, public institutions, civil society and universities. Discussions explored **steps to increase civic engagement and cooperation between institutions** in response to local needs.

Group activities helped shape the **draft framework for a local strategy and a two-year action plan**. The preparations focused on involving different sections of society more actively in local decision-making and improving communication between public institutions and civil society.
