We joined prickly pear researchers and producers in Mértola. The programme listed Avni Taşyürek as a speaker on cultivation areas, varieties and research in Türkiye.
NATURELDER attended the International Prickly Pear Congress in Mértola, Portugal. We took part in the Mértola leg of an event bringing together researchers, producers and other people working with prickly pear.
Officially titled the 4th International Itinerant University of Prickly Pear, the event’s programme covered 15–18 September 2022 across Évora, Almodôvar and Mértola. Organised by Confraria do Figo da Índia and partners including the University of Évora’s MED research institute, the programme brought together technical and scientific sessions, visits to producers and product exhibitions.
The 17 September programme in Mértola listed Avni Taşyürek of NATURELDER as a speaker on prickly pear cultivation areas, varieties and research in Türkiye. The same section covered work in Portugal, Chile, Egypt, Argentina, France and Spain, with time set aside for discussion and questions following the country presentations.
