# We introduced the soap we developed from prickly pear

We presented Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı with the soap developed through our research combining prickly pear with traditional olive oil and laurel soap-making techniques.

**Our ongoing research and development work on prickly pear has produced a new product: soap.** In this work, we combined prickly pear with traditional olive oil and laurel soap-making techniques. We announced the soap in our post of 13 March 2023.

On behalf of NATURELDER, we presented the soap to **Ambassador Faruk Kaymakcı, Türkiye’s Permanent Representative to the European Union**. We thank him for the opportunity to share our work on local products.

The soap is part of **our continuing work on prickly pear following the Rural Development with Local Products Project**. It adds another example to our efforts to explore different uses for this local plant.
