BeeBridge is a vocational education project connecting the practical knowledge of experienced beekeepers with younger people and those entering beekeeping. It aims to support knowledge transfer between generations while responding to new learning needs arising from climate change and digitalisation.

The project builds on the training curriculum developed through BeeGen, which ran from 2019 to 2022. BeeBridge plans to update this content and extend it through video, podcasts and practical learning resources. Coordinated by WUELS, the partnership brings together seven organisations from six countries.

## Project objectives

- Preserve experienced beekeepers' knowledge and support its transfer to new generations.
- Update beginner and professional beekeeping training with climate change and digital beekeeping topics.
- Make vocational learning more accessible through visual, audio and multilingual resources.
- Develop cooperation and practical learning opportunities across universities, civil-society organisations and the beekeeping sector.

## Planned activities and resources

**Updated training content:** Beginner and professional beekeeping curricula will be reviewed to incorporate climate change and Beekeeping 4.0. Short training videos and longer practical tutorials will be prepared with partner-language versions and English subtitles.

**Voice of Experts:** Interviews with specialists and successful beekeepers are planned as the basis for a podcast series. These recordings, accompanied by written versions and translations, will share practical experience with a wider audience of learners.

**Educational apiary model:** The project will develop a model and handbook for an educational apiary. Three micro educational apiaries will be established at the university partners in Poland, Czechia and Lithuania, supporting practical learning and exchange between generations.

**Testing and dissemination:** Training resources will be tested with beekeepers, students, trainers and agricultural advisors. Local workshops and dissemination events will support their use.

## NATURELDER's role

Mediterranean Natural Life Association is the project's Turkish partner. Its responsibilities include updating the beginner module **Apiary Establishment and Hive Systems** and the professional module **Professional Apiary Management and Marketing**.

NATURELDER also contributes to training video production, interviews with Turkish experts and beekeepers, Turkish translations and subtitles, local testing and dissemination. Its role includes organising project staff training in Türkiye and supporting beekeepers' participation in international training activities.

## Who is the project for?

BeeBridge is intended for experienced beekeepers, young and potential beekeepers, vocational learners and trainers, agricultural advisors, public institutions and beekeeping organisations. The planned resources aim to support learners with different levels of experience.
