Save the mountain, Safe for you is an Erasmus+ project that supports youth workers in making their outdoor activities safer and more respectful of nature. Through practical learning in a natural setting, the project brings together safety skills and environmental responsibility.

Supported by the European Union's Erasmus+ Mobility of Youth Workers programme, the project runs from **15 May 2026 to 14 February 2027**. The partnership brings together eight organisations from eight countries, with NATURELDER as the partner from Türkiye.

## Project objectives

- Develop youth workers' skills in finding directions in nature, preparing for emergencies and using first aid supplies.
- Support outdoor living skills, such as building shelters, through practical learning.
- Promote practices that protect the natural environment during outdoor activities.
- Support the use of knowledge and methods gained through international exchange in local youth work.

## Project activities

**Practical training:** The project's residential training took place in **Asturias, Spain, on 18–24 September 2026**, organised by Creando Floresta at Albergue Los Avellanos. The programme brought youth workers together for practical learning and the exchange of experience in a natural setting.

**Online learning:** Complementary online sessions are planned to consolidate what participants learned during the residential training and address their questions.

**Pocket guide:** A guide is planned to bring together basic knowledge and good practices on outdoor safety and care for nature.

**Local follow-up activities:** Participants are expected to adapt the methods they have learned to their own communities and use and share them in activities with young people.

## NATURELDER's role

The Mediterranean Natural Life Association participates in international learning and the exchange of experience as the project's partner from Türkiye. The NATURELDER team took part in the residential training in Asturias.

## Who is it for?

The project is aimed at people involved in youth work as volunteers or professionals who want to include nature and outdoor activities in their work. It aims to bring the knowledge and skills gained to young people through the participating organisations and local communities.
