We developed ideas for rural entrepreneurship in Mollina

During the Rural Boosters training, we explored rural needs, looked at Mollina through an entrepreneur’s eyes and developed project ideas based on local resources.

The international group gathered in the Rural Boosters training room

Two youth workers from Türkiye took part in the Rural Boosters training held in Mollina, Spain, from 22 February to 1 March 2023. Organised by Asociación Juvenil Almenaras, the Erasmus+ youth workers mobility project included NATURELDER as a project partner.

The opening sessions combined getting-to-know-you activities with the formation of intercultural teams for reflection and mutual support. Working groups were set up to develop business ideas step by step. Organisations introduced themselves, and participants explored Mollina through the eyes of an entrepreneur looking for ideas, partners and opportunities in a rural setting.

During the workshops, participants developed proposals to revitalise the town and revised them with guidance from the trainer. Ideas presented during a museum visit included organising festivals, developing a zero-waste brand involving the local community and creating an open-air museum of miniatures across the town in cooperation with the museum. These were project proposals developed as part of the training.

Participants also shared the needs of rural areas in their own countries. By identifying common needs, they worked on project ideas that could help revitalise those communities.
