We turned surplus grape molasses into vinegar in Şahna
As part of our Zero Waste Project, we made use of surplus grape molasses in Şahna by turning it into vinegar through traditional methods.

In Şahna, in the Erdemli district of Mersin, we turned unsold surplus molasses made from local grapes into vinegar as part of our Zero Waste Project. Working with local people, we made use of the molasses through traditional fermentation.
Through this activity, we aimed to value the work behind local production and prevent surplus food from going to waste. Şahna grape molasses vinegar became one of our practical examples of bringing local production knowledge together with a zero waste approach.
We carry out this initiative using our association’s own resources and local cooperation. To learn more about its aims and scope, visit our Zero Waste Project page.
